What's the story behind the factory? Following the 1971 war that established Bangladesh and brought with it poverty and disease, Saidpur Enterprises began in 1976 as a project to help the mothers of malnourished children with emloyment producing jute handicrafts and now supports artisans selling for a larger fair trade export market.They also provide literary classes, training on nutrition, women's legal rights, educational awareness and finance.

love that colorful bag with red and orange flowers. when a young woman asked me where I got the bag and I of course told her and showed her where and by whom it was manufactured. She could not believe it. hopefully she will become a customer.
I love how I can write something meaningful to me in front of the bag. It makes me happy and I have become addicted to the bags, just got the citrus and then the very light pink came yesterday.
What would make it even better is if you could add a way of closing the bag on top. It is scary to go outside the US with an open bag.
