We are privileged to release the Apolis + K. Frank Market Bag exclusively sold at K. Frank’s shop in Santa Barbara, CA. This is our 18th Local + Global project, connecting regional retailers with our global advocacy and helping to create consistent employment for artisans in rural Bangladesh. The first ten Apolis mobile app users to visit K. Frank and purchase their exclusive Santa Barbara Market Bag and an Apolis Luggage Tag will receive $20 savings.
Santa Barbara is a beach community renowned for its beauty, unassuming nature and active outdoor culture. Santa Barbara attracts an eclectic mix of well-heeled tourists from the US and abroad, artists, college students, celebrities and beach bums. Additionally, Santa Barbara has a burgeoning equestrian and viticulture scene that draws in niche followings from around the world.
K. Frank’s Santa Barbara shop is located on State Street, the cultural epicenter of the city. Following a massive 1925 earthquake that leveled the entire downtown, city leaders enforced a strict building code resulting in uniform Spanish Revival architecture in the city’s center. This architecture is a staple of Santa Barbara’s downtown and sets the perfect scene for the city’s most popular cultural festival, Old Spanish Days Fiesta, which occurs every August. We're especially thankful for retail partners like K. Frank that are truly an extension of our brand. We met the proprietors, Kevin & his wife Katie, 5+ years ago. Hailing from the Midwest, Kevin and Katie graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. A long stint in Aspen, Colorado helped shape their vision and define their personal style. After moving from the alpine ski towns of the Rockies to the rustic seaside beauty of the California coast, the Frank family founded their store which has become a destination that makes locals proud to call Santa Barbara home.
Santa Barbara is also the location of our parents' garage where we started Apolis and still serves as a favorite vacation destination for many of our Apolis team members. Whether it is surfing Hammonds, relaxing in Summerland, or cycling up the 154, we have fond memories of our time spent in Santa Barbara and are proud to link our home city into our global mission through this new Market Bag.
